Does Odyssey provide public access to court records? Is there a charge to users?
The Indiana Supreme Court makes all public court records in Odyssey available through its website.
There is no cost to users and the information is available 24/7, 365 days a year. As more counties deploy Odyssey we believe there will be a decrease in phone calls and trips to the courthouse to check basic information. As attorney and members of the public increasingly check case information via the Odyssey link on the Supreme Court’s website, there should be a decrease in the requests made to the local courthouse staff.
To date, with just Monroe County and one township court in Marion County using Odyssey, more than 6,500 unique users are checking case information from our website every month.
During peak day-time hours the site may get 30,000-40,000 hits an hour, but even in the wee hours between 2 to 4 a.m., more than a thousand hits are being registered.
