Indiana’s Odyssey CMS is web-based software, which has a whole host of advantages for users and administrators of the system alike. But like any website, its functionality and presentation must be compatible with the web browser used to view it.
If you aren’t quite sure what a web browser is, examples include Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Just as you would use word processing software like Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect to view a text document, you use a web browser to view websites and web-based software like Odyssey.
Currently, Odyssey is compatible with the Internet Explorer (IE) browser, specifically versions 7 (ideal) and 6. Microsoft recently released version 8.0 of this browser, but Tyler Technologies still has some changes to make to Odyssey to ensure it functions properly in IE 8. For that reason, Odyssey users should not update to IE 8 until those changes are announced, and any users that have upgraded should seek assistance from local IT staff or the JTAC help desk (1-888-ASK-JTAC) for assistance.
