Located in the southwestern area of Indiana in Knox County is Bicknell City Court, the Honorable Gary Byrer presiding. Judge Byrer was appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels in September, 2010. About 3,000 people reside in Bicknell, and Highways 67 and 159 cross the city.
On April 18th the court staff entered data to create their first Odyssey case — number 42H011104OV000036 — making Bicknell City Court the 86th court in the state now using the Indiana Supreme Court’s fully integrated case and financial management system. A JTAC trainer will remain on site at Bicknell City Court as necessary to assist the staff with the improved business processes their new data management technology provides. Also, the Court staff will have toll free access to JTAC’s experienced Help Desk personnel for any questions that might arise after JTAC staff are gone. Additionally, grant funds were used to purchase a new computer laptop, printer, and a copy of Microsoft Office software for the court.
Court case data for Bicknell City Court is now available at no cost through Odyssey Public Access.
With the addition of Bicknell City Court, courts in 29 Indiana counties are utilizing Odyssey’s data sharing system. Congratulations to Judge Byrer and his dedicated staff for their willingness, time and effort in transitioning to Odyssey and bringing state-of-the-art technology to their court! JTAC looks forward to implementing Odyssey to the trial courts of Knox County.
