NEW COURT TECHNOLOGY

The Judge of the Starke Circuit Court has recently employed numerous technological advances for the purposes of increasing public access to the Court and improving overall efficiency of all Court operations. These improvements include:

A computer network connecting the Court, the Clerk, and the Probation Department.
A computer case management system that has dramatically improved efficiency.
A state-of-the-art digital recording system, now in place in both Courtrooms on the third floor.
Amplification of the sound system through speakers in the public sitting area and in the jury box.
A wall-mounted LCD television to permit jurors, the Judge, and the public to view the evidence.
The display of the Court docket on a computer monitor in the hallway outside of the Courtroom.
The display of the Court docket on the internet.
The ability to search for cases on the internet.
A new telephone system to facilitate communication between the staff and the public.
A comprehensive Court website, created as a result of a collaborative effort between the Judge and technicians at the Indiana Supreme Court, Judicial Technology and Automation Committee. It is the first pilot program of its kind in the state of Indiana.

All of this has been accomplished with a minimum amount of noticible intrusion upon the beauty of our historic Courthouse.
